Recycle more at NAWMA’s Resource Recovery Centres

To recycle items that are not suitable for the yellow-lid kerbside recycling bin, residents can use NAWMA’s Resource Recovery Centres.

NAWMA operates two Resource Recovery Centres (Pooraka and Edinburgh North) which are open to the public seven days a week. The following are some of the items that can be recycled at both locations: batteries, unused paint, electronic waste (including mobile phones, cables, kitchen appliances), fluorescent lights, x-rays, scrap metal (including saucepans, items with metal frames such as prams, chairs and bikes) and furniture including mattresses. Many of these items are accepted free of charge (see our page on Resource Recovery Centres for details). When disposing of a mixed trailer load of goods, residents can reduce their costs by ensuring their load is clearly sorted.

Residents without access to a trailer are reminded that NAWMA provides free caged-trailer hire to be used in conjunction with a hard waste drop-off voucher (deposit required, 3 hour maximum). For more information, see our page on free trailer hire.
