about1 (9K)

As individuals, communities, businesses, governments and nations, we have a responsibility to contribute to sustainable development to preserve and enhance the natural environment.

The management of waste is a key aspect of that responsibility.

For more than a decade, NAWMA has delivered cost efficient and environmentally sustainable waste services in South Australia. It works closely with Local Government, industry and residents of the northern region of Adelaide in implementing leading edge practices to:

  • reduce landfill;
  • encourage materials recycling and recovery; and
  • promote awareness of the need to think globally and act locally about waste.

NAWMA services the waste management needs of its member Councils - the Town of Gawler and the Cities of Playford and Salisbury - The Barossa Council and other rural Councils in the region.

Over the past decade, the percentage of material NAWMA has diverted from landfill has increased from 10 per cent to over 40 per cent.

As part of its strategic forward planning to meet the needs of expanding communities, NAWMA has developed an integrated, long-term approach to recycling and environmentally responsible waste disposal.

This website provides information on NAWMA's waste management services and how it is working to ensure future generations inherit a healthy and life-sustaining environment.
